Matix - Lord of the Lines

(Toronto) 'Poyner Park' recently hosted 'Matix - Lord of the Lines' contest on Saturday, July 12th. It was basically a best trick contest where sets of 4 riders have 15 minutes to complete the best line on three obsticals consisting of a flat bar, high ledge and manual pad.

With Squeegee in hand, Leigh Lachez had his work cut out for him battling the on-and-off light rain that was looming for most of the day. That was of course not enough to discourage the riders from throwing down their best line after line on the course. I'm certain that it must have been a difficult decision for 'celebrity judges' Chris Tuckett, Nathan Olokun and Migs Bartula due to the constant ripping that ensued from all who entered. But, in the end there could only be three finalists to take home the prizes and they were...

1st - Spencer Hamilton
2nd - Mike Mains
3rd - Paul Liliani

Many thanks to Virgil at Supra Dist. for hosting the event, Leigh Lachez for keeping the park dry and the spectators & skaters who stuck it out despite the dampness. Be sure to check out the video, and a few photos will also be posted soon...
